Frightfully Fun: Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights Has Finally Descended

Buckle up, horror fans—Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights has officially kicked off, and if you’re not scared yet, you will be. This year’s nightmare fest started on August 30, unleashing a new wave of terror that promises to haunt your dreams (and maybe your waking hours too). We've been hinting at it for months, but now it’s time to lock in those tickets and experience the chills firsthand.

Running on select nights through November 3, this is Halloween Horror Nights’ 33rd year of making you question your life choices. With ten brand-new, movie-quality haunted houses and five spine-chilling scare zones, it’s like stepping straight into your favorite horror flick—minus the popcorn, plus a lot of screaming. Universal Orlando’s Entertainment team has outdone themselves, pulling inspiration from classic films and some seriously twisted original stories. When you need a break from all the jump scares, there’s a live show that’ll keep your adrenaline pumping, themed food and drinks to fuel your courage, and a Tribute Store where you can shop for souvenirs that’ll make you question your own sanity.

So, what’s lurking in the dark corners of Halloween Horror Nights 2024? For starters, you’ll want to keep quiet in “A Quiet Place,” where you’ll join the Abbott family in a nerve-wracking escape from monsters with super-sensitive hearing. Not your cup of terror? Maybe facing down a vengeful spirit in New York City with the Ghostbusters in “Frozen Empire” will get your heart racing. And if paranormal entities are more your speed, “Insidious: The Further” is ready to take you into a dimension where the term “bad vibes” doesn’t even begin to cover it.

The scares don’t stop there. “Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines” throws you into a fierce battle between classic female monsters, while “Slaughter Sinema 2” serves up B-movie horror with a side of spaghetti western gore. And if that’s not enough, there’s “Goblin’s Feast,” where a village of bloodthirsty goblins, orcs, and witches eagerly await new visitors—who may or may not become the main course.

Of course, no Halloween Horror Nights would be complete without some absolutely bonkers original creations. “Major Sweets Candy Factory” takes you on a field trip that quickly turns into a nightmare, “The Museum: Deadly Exhibits” offers a tour where the exhibits might just want to kill you, and “Monstrous: The Monsters of Latin America” introduces you to some terrifying folklore figures you never knew you feared. As if that weren’t enough, “Triplets of Terror” ensures you’ll never look at birthday parties the same way again.

Two new horror hosts, SINIST3R and SURR3AL, are ready to lead you through five menacing scare zones. Whether you’re evading SINIST3R’s homemade torture devices in “Torture Faire” or trying to survive the undead in “Swamp of the Undead,” these zones will have you checking over your shoulder all night long. And just when you think you’ve escaped, you’ll be thrown into the Blumhouse gauntlet, featuring familiar faces from “The Purge,” “Black Phone,” and more.

Need a break? Catch your breath with “Nightmare Fuel: Nocturnal Circus,” a live show filled with pyro, aerialists, and rock rhythms that’ll make you forget all about the horrors outside—until you step back into them, of course. And don’t miss the all-new Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store, where you can shop for the latest creepy merch and grab a snack or two to keep your energy up.

The terror doesn’t stop at the park gates, either. Universal Orlando hotels are getting in on the action, with Halloween-themed décor and creepy vibes taking over. Whether it’s pumpkins and sinister roots at Cabana Bay Beach Resort or gothic seaside manors at Loews Sapphire Falls, your stay is guaranteed to be as spooky as it is fun. Plus, hotel guests get special perks like early access to Halloween Horror Nights and free transportation to the parks.

Tickets and vacation packages for Halloween Horror Nights 2024 are on sale now, so if you’re ready to scream your way through fall, now’s the time to book. And if you need a little help planning the ultimate scare-cation, we at Park and Preston Travel have got you covered. We’ll make sure everything is terrifyingly perfect—from the haunted houses to the hotel décor. Just don’t ask us to hold your hand during the scares. We’ll be too busy screaming ourselves.

For more spine-tingling details, head over to Universal Orlando’s official site. But remember, the real fun (and fear) begins when you start planning. Ready to book? You know where to find us.
